ISLAAM
The highest blessings which Islaam has conferred on man is the concept of Tauheed or Unity of Allaah Almighty in its purest form. This has been bought to mankind through Saiyyidinaa Rasoolal Laah
[صلى الله عايه وسالم]
The Beloved of Allaah Kareem and the last of the Divine Messengers.
It should be clear that obedience to Rasoolal laah
[صلى الله عايه وسالم]
is always to be observed with intense love and highest respect for him, for it is through love and esteem that truth can be comprehended and communion with the Creator can be granted.
In Shaa Allaah
The frequent reciter of salutation will get countless and matchless benefits in both the Worlds. It is therefore incumbent on those who love him, to pray to Allaah Ta’aala and His Angels in wishing for him peace according to the Divine Command.
QUR’AAN AL KAREEM & DUROOD SHAREEF
The Excellence in Reciting the Durood Shareef upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad

As Explained In The Holy Qur’aan And Aha’dees
The Divine message of Truth …has come down to us in the form of the Holy Qur’aan.
&
The teachings of Rasoolal laah
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
have reached us in the form of collection of Hadees…call Ahaa’dees.
As its says in the Holy Qur’aan
إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا
Translation…
“Surely Allaah and His Angels send blessings on the Holy Prophet
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
O you who believe! Send Blessings [Durood] and Salutations [Salaams] on the Prophet with worthy Salutation”.
[Surah al-Ahzab: 56]
In this verse of the Holy Qur’aan, Almighty Allaah, His Malaa’ikah and the Muslims have been mentioned as sending Durood upon Rasoolal Laah

DUROOD SHAREEF
So, Durood Shareef is actually
A Divine Du’a in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
The famous prayer Dua… plea, appeal, request, supplication, invocation, of Blessings on the Holy Prophet
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
is adapted in Arabic as “Salawat”, in Persian as “Durood”, and in Urdu as “Salaat-o-Salaam”.
The special and exclusive aspect of this prayer is that Durood Shareef is immediately accepted by Allaah Ta’alaa.
No one can doubt its acceptance, as Durood Shareef is being recited by Allaah Ta’aala too. Not only this, but He has revealed this secret in the Holy Qur’aan by saying:
” Wara fa’na laka zikrak”
Which means “we higher your praise.”
” Wa Ma arsalnaka illla Rahmatul lill Alameen”
“We did not send you but mercy on all the worlds.”
Allaah Kareem Says
” Qad Jaa akum burhanum mir rabbikum wa anzalna ilaikum nooram mubeena”
“without a doubt proof has arrived to you from your Lord, and we have sent you the open light“
This Light devastated all the domains of darkness and depression. By reciting Durood Shareef [Salawat] we invite Light and drive away all darkness from our inner soul. Our mind becomes soft and love saturated and our inner soul peaceful and contented.
We have been told by Saiyyidnaa Rasoolal Laah
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
that Durood Shareef is itself Light and when Light enters the soul every aspiration is achieved and every goal is won. Nothing remains thereafter to worry about.
AHADEES & DUROOD SHAREEF
In a well-known Hadees the famous Sahabaa
Hazrat Anas [Radial Laahu Anhu] narrates
that Rasoolal Laah
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
said:
“He who reads a single Durood upon me, Almighty Allaah blesses him ten times, ten of his sins are forgiven, and he is increased ten times in stages [Spritually]
Mishkaat Shareef
Hazrat Abdullah ibn Ma’sud
[Radial Laahu Anhu]
also narrates that Saiyyidinaa Rasoolal Laah said:
“On the Day of Qiyamat the closest to me from among the people will be those who have read the most amount of Durood Shareef”.
[Tirmidhi Shareef]
Saiyyidinaa Rasoolal laah
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم ]
said,
“When Thursday arrives, Almighty Allaah sends the Angels who possess tablets of silver and pens of gold. They record [upon the tablets, the names of those] who read the Durood Shareef on the nights of Thursday and Friday”.
[Sadaatud Daarain]
“Increase your reading of the Durood Shareef during the day of Jummah for this is a Day of Witnessing. It is on this day that the Angels present themselves. Whenever any of you read the Durood Shareef, the Durood Shareef is presented to me even before the gathering closes”.
[Jaami’us Sagheer]
Saiyyidinaa Ali [Radi Allaahu Anhu] narrates that
Saiyyidinaa Rasoolal Laah
صلى الله عايه وسالم
said,
“For that person who reads a hundred Durood Shareefs on Jummah, then on the Day of Qiyamah, he will be accompanied by a Noor, whose intensity is so brilliant if it had to be distributed among the creation, it would serve all”.
[Dalaa’ilul Khayraat]
He also said,
“Among the days, the most excellent is the Day of Jummah. It is on this day that Nabee Hazrat Aadam [Alaiehis Salaam] was created and it is on this day that he passed away. It is on this day that Qiyamat will occur and it is on this day that mankind will be overtaken by unconsciousness.
Therefore, on this day, increase your reading of the Durood Shareef for your Durood Shareef is presented to Him”.
When the Sahaba inquired as to how this was possible when the body of person is supposed to be eaten by the earth after death, Rasoolal Laah
[ صلى الله عايه وسالم
replied,
“Verily Almighty Allaah has made it
Haraam [forbidden] upon the earth to devour the bodies of the Ambiya”.
[Sadaatud Daarain]
The Dua “Durood Shareef” [Salawat] is a Divine order of Love and perfection of Ieeman in a true lover and believer.
It is in perfect obedience to the Divine Command and in complete following with the teachings of Holy Prophet [ صلى الله عايه وسالم of Islam.
Durood is a sure means of Allaah Ta’ala granting blessings, peace, prosperity and favors of great greatness on one who recites Durood Shareef on the Holy Prophet

The Act of Love
The reciter of Durood Shareef receives all the benefits in this world and utmost gain in the next world with addition to the love of the Holy Prophet

The regular recitation of Durood Shareef on Saiyyidinaa Rasoolal Laah lifts up our hearts on to a plane of understanding where we gaze in our new found peace and moral uplift ment.
The more Durood Shareef we recite, the greater the gain and benefit will be achieved in both the worlds.
Shaiekh-e-Akbar Mo’in ud deen ibn Araby
[Rahmatul Laah Alaieh]
Has said,
“Those who claim to love and revere the Holy Prophet
صلى الله عايه وسالم
should increase their recital of the Durood Shareef in patience and perseverance until, through the mercy of Rasoolal laah they have the opportunity of witnessing his blessed countenance”.
