 The Excellence s of Hazrat Saiyyidinaa Imaam Husaien

He was Born on 3rd-Sha’baan
Our Beloved Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ gave the Azaan in his
right ear and the Iqaamah in his left ear he then and made Dua for him.
On the 7th day he was named Husaien and his Aqeeqah [Goat was sacrificed] was
performed. The Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ commanded Bibi Hazrat Faatimah Tuz
Zahraa… to remove his hair and to give silver in charity equivalent to the
weight of the hair.
Imaam Husaien رضي الله عنه was without doubt a very handsome personality. From his chest
down to his blessed feet he was the image of Prophet Muhammad صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ,whereas
his elder brother Hazrat Imaam Hasan رضي الله عنه was the image of the
Prophet, صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ from his chest up to his
blessed head.
Hazrat Imaam Husaien, was taught by the Prophet and Hazrat Bibi Faatima and
Hazrat Alee. [May Allaah be pleased with them]. The. Holy Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ loved Hazrat Imaam Husaien due to his piety and pure heart. In
every way he was superior and exalted in wisdom, manners, piousness, devotion
and lineage. He knew the laws of Islam and the tradition of the Holy Prophet [Sunnat]
very well.
Hazrat Imaam Husaien رضي الله عنه was
a very kind, gentle, generous, kindhearted and Allaah /God-fearing personality.
He always cared for the poor and oppressed, assisted the helpless, gave comfort
to those in pain and sorrow and showed great love and affection towards
orphans. He was the embodiment of the character of his Honorable Grandfather صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ and of his blessed parents.
His tolerance and patience were also exemplary. This was manifested by the fact
that his martyrdom had been foretold by the Holy Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ, and
even though he was aware of this, he was still patient and waited for the Will
of Allaah Almighty, to take its course. Hazrat Imaam Husaien was also blessed
with bravery of the highest degree and this bravery and fearlessness was
manifested on many occasions, particularly during the Battle of Karbalaa.
The Prophet Muhammad صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ has said,
“Husaien is from me and I am from Husaien. Whosoever has kept Husaien as his
beloved, Allaah is his beloved.”
This means that the Holy Prophet Muhammad and Imaam Husaien [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]
are extremely close to each other as if they are one. The remembrance of Imaam
Husaien is the remembrance of the Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ the
friendship of Imaam Husaien is the friendship of the Prophet and the enmity of
Imaam Husaien رضي الله عنه is
the animosity of Prophet Muhammad. صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
