Visiting The Graveyard

Hazrat Aa‘ishah [Radiyal Laah Anha] has stated that the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal
Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] on
Shab-e-Baraat went to Jannat ul Baaqi Cemetery and prayed to Allaah for
forgiveness for men, women and martyrs.

[Ibne Majah]

One should visit the cemetery during
this night and pray for the deceased buried therein, as the Holy Prophet [Sallal
Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
is been reported as
having visited the cemetery on this night and spending a long time therein,
lamenting, reading and praying for the deceased.
