3rd Ashraa of Mubarak Ramadan
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Wal Hamdu Lil-laahi Rab-bil ‘Aalameen
We have entered the last Ashraa of Ramadan
which enjoys genuine superiority over all the other months of the year. Likewise, it’s last ‘Ashraa or ten days are superior to the two earlier ‘Ashraas, and “Laiela tul Qadr” or the Night of Power, generally, falls in it.
The Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] have said:
Ramadan is the month, whose beginning is mercy, its middle, forgiveness and its end, emancipation from the fire [of hell] –
It signifies to implore the blessing of Allaah Almighty for the safety from the eternally burning fires of “Hell”.
Ashraa is an Arabic word which means ten. In Islamic terminology, the 1st Ashraa refers to the first 10 days of the Holy month of Ramaadan. The second Ashraa refers to the middle 10 days [11-20], and the third Ashraa refers to the last set of 10 days [21-30].
It is a time of special devotion prayers, as everyone tries to come closer to [God] Allaah Almighty through extra prayers Nafils, devotions and good deeds.
That is why, the Beloved Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] devoted himself more intensively to prayer and other forms of worship during it and urged others, also, to do the same.
Um mul Mu’mineen Hazrat Aa‘ishah Siddeeqah [Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa] related to us that “the Beloved of Allaah [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] strove harder and took greater pains to observe prayer etc., during the last ten days of Ramadan than during the other days.”

The Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] is reported to have said:
This is the time when Allaah Kareems Mercy is at its peak,
and it is best to utilize this opportunity by imploring Allaah Kareem to forgive our sins.
“Do repent in this month to Allaah for your sins, and supplicate with raised hands at the time of prayer as these are the best times, during which Allaah Al-Mighty looks at his servants with mercy.
Allaah Kareem answers if they supplicate, responds if they call, grants if He is asked, and accepts if they entreat.
The Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him] continued and said: “O’ People! Anyone who during this month eases the burden of his servants, Allaah Kareem will make easy his accounting, and for anyone who does not hurt others during this month, Allaah Kareem will safeguard him from His wrath on the Day of Judgment.”
It is a time of special spiritual power as everyone tries to come closer to God through devotions and good deeds.
May Allaah Ta’alaa through the sadqa of his Beloved Muhammed e Mustafaa [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] bring prosperity happiness and contentment in ourlives.. again ….AameenMay Allaah Kareeem guide us to Siraat-e Mustaqeem, and grant us the taufeeq to utilize this merciful and ever so forgiving Ashraa of the Most Holiest of the Holy Months.
May Allaah Kareem accept our sujood o qayaam and tauba, for indeed His mercy prevails over his wrath, and indeed we are sinners in dire need of that mercy. May Allaah Kareem accept all our fasts and prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan.May He make us of those who stand in prayer with sincerity and love for him during the night of power may Allaah Kareem show us mercy and allow us to make the most out of this Ramadan and all the future ones to come. May Allaah Kareem help our Muslim brothers and sisters, in need let us all remember them and all of the Muslims worldwide in our du’aas.
